Rexy Adopted August 23, 2013 – Passed Away December 25, 2021

Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my wonderful dog, Rexy just weeks before his 18th birthday. He was happy and healthy (for his age) up to a week before his passing when his kidney disease progressed rapidly. I adopted Rexy when he was over 9 years old and I feel fortunate to have had so many great years with him. I’ve been working from home since March 2020 so Rexy and I have been together almost 24-7 since then, an ideal situation for an elderly dog.

Rexy was a cool little guy and my best pal. He was great with other people, dogs, and even cats. He enjoyed various forms of transportation (cars, streetcars, subways, trains, buses) and I could take him almost anywhere. He especially loved the old streetcars where I could crack the window and he could stick his nose out. Rexy touched the lives of my friends and family and would often get smiles and compliments from random people on the street.

He was especially loved by his long-time dogwalker and sometimes pet sitter. I’m heartbroken but grateful for my time with Rexy.

Thanks to his previous family for taking great care of him for the first 9 years of his life. He was a bundle of energy when I got him and I often wonder what he was like as a puppy. And thanks to Pomeranian & Small Breed rescue for allowing me to adopt Rexy.
